Carly & Ellery

December 29, 2009

I got to know these two lovely sisters in my time helping out with the high schoolers at calvary chapel, and I actually did this photoshoot the last week in August before I left for New York, I just didn’t post the photos until now.
We did not even start this photo shoot until after the sun had set, and I didn’t bring my flash with me so it was all really low lighting, but these girls were troopers and were so much fun to photograph.

Justin Joffer

December 29, 2009

Justin and I met because he was working as one of my photographers when I was the photo editor at the Horizon. While he is a talented photographer, he had gotten into modeling a bit and had asked me to do a photoshoot of him to expand his portfolio a bit, so we found some great locations in Montecito, and here are a few of my favorite shots from our day:

Lindsey actually booked this senior photo shoot before I even left for New York, that way she could be my first client when I returned home. I was so excited about her shoot because she is absolutely adorable and such a joy to work with, and she has the cutest wink I have ever seen!! Here are a few of my favorites from the day, and as you can tell, we had an incredible time.

April Satterthwaite

December 24, 2009

Since I have been back on the west coast, I have had a photoshoot day, and I have been loving every moment of it. I am so grateful for the work, and am really enjoying the challenge of continuing my creativity in a professional way. So my first few photoshoots were senior portraits….so here are a few of my favorite from the shoot with lovely April:

first snow of the season

December 22, 2009

I had the pleasure of being in NYC for their first snow! When I looked outside my window and saw the first snowflakes begin to fall I was so excited! Since I was born and raised in California, I don’t get to see too much snow, so it was such a treat to have snow in the city!

Here is the view outside my studio window:

and here are a few pictures of the lights in Tribeca as the snow turned into puddles:

Andrew Zuckerman

December 22, 2009

For those of you who are not familiar with Andrew Zuckerman’s work, you should check him out right now! I was going to intern with him in NYC this past semester, but he was working on a book project and spending most of his time traveling so I decided to pass on the opportunity and intern with Ira Lippke instead. But I got to visit Andrew’s studio, and I immediately fell in love. It is a simple yet elegant studio located in the heart of Chelsea. Upon meeting Andrew in person, we spoke about the possibility of working for him if I ever moved back…so if I do decide to move back one day, there is a good chance I will get to see this beautiful view every day:

Shannon & James

December 22, 2009

Shannon and I emailed back and forth while I was in New York this semester, and although I already loved her personality from the communication we had so far, I was so excited to meet her and her fiance James in person! So when I got back to California last week, I finally got to meet them, and as I assumed, they are an incredible couple and were SO much fun to work with! Here are a few horizontal ones I picked out for the Save the Date cards, hopefully I will post more from this awesome shoot sometime soon.

Matt & Katey’s engagement

November 8, 2009

This is by far one of my favorite engagement sessions I’ve ever done!
Matt and Katey were a joy to photograph, and their are no words that can describe how much in love they are. They are both beautiful from the inside out, and reminded me of what true love looks like.
I actually did this shoot back in July, but just realized today that I had yet to post it on here…so enjoy!

The Nelsons in Central Park

November 1, 2009

Chris surprised his wife with a trip to NYC and a photoshoot in Central Park for her 30th birthday. They are an adorable couple, and we had a fantastic time walking around the park, so here are a few of my favorites from our adventure.

I realized I should be updating this blog a little more often, so here is a quick snapshot I took while waiting to cross the street the other night…
